Whirlpool Fridge Freezer Buying Information

Whirlpool offers a limited 1-year warranty from the original date of purchase, for parts and labor to correct defects in materials or workmanship. The warranty does not cover “damage resulting from accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, fire, flood, acts of God, improper installation, installation not in accordance with electrical or plumbing codes, or use of products not approved by Whirlpool” and replacement parts or repair labor costs for units operated outside the United States or Canada. Light bulbs, air filters, and water filters are also not covered by the warranty.

Consumer complaints concerning Whirlpool refrigerators center on interior cabinet and liner cracks, faulty icemakers that break and flood kitchens and compressor relay problems that pose a major fire hazard. LG is a South Korean company founded in the late 1940s. Originally founded as Goldstar in 1958, the company became known as Lucky-Goldstar until the 70s.
