Fast Troubleshooting List

Refrigerator starts and stops frequently

1. Clean the condenser coils

2. Check the outlet voltage

3. Check the condenser fan

4. Check the compressor relay

5. Check the overload protector

6. Check the compressor motor

Refrigerator does not run and the light does not work

1. Make sure the refrigerator is plugged in securely

2. Check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker

3. Check the power outlet for current

4. Check the electrical cord for damage

Refrigerator does not run but the light works

1. Check the temperature setting

2. Make certain there is a three inch space off the wall from the refrigerator back and sides to allow for air flow

3. Check the condenser coils

4. Unplug the refrigerator, wait 3 hours and plug it in. If you hear it running, a problem is causing the compressor to overheat

5. Check the temperature setting

6. Check the evaporator fan

7. Check the defrost timer

Refrigerator light does not work
