Bluestone BCIM65 80 Lb. Undercounter Stainless Ice-Maker (25 lb. storage capacity)
Drain is required for operation-Makes clear bullet shaped ice
The Bluestone Ice Maker is nice little machine for a small restaurant.
It is a under counter ice maker that is heavy for home use but pretty good for a small restaurant. It is labeled to make 80 pounds of ice in a day but I know it makes a lot more.
It isn't the most pretty looking machine if you would like to put your home kitchen, perfect for commercial use. It holds 25 pounds in the hold compartment which has a auto shut off so it doesn't keep on running and over flowing.
It will run on your normal home current so your not re-wiring your home for 220v. Installing the machine was pretty easy, you will need either a hand cart or two people. It weighs around 100 pounds.
You will need to have a drain for the drain plug. Since I have a restaurant, I have plenty of floor drains. If you install it in a home kitchen you might have to splice into your sink drain. It also comes with a cute little scoop.
The things I don't like is the door doesn't stay open after using it for a while. Also the front can get dented if your not careful with the machine. I wish it was a thicker metal on the front. I would say it's pretty good for a commercial use item, some of these machines can cost 5-10k if you get your items at a professional restaurant store. I would buy another if I needed one.
Pros It makes more ice than it lists in the manual. You don't have to rewire your whole kitchen for one appliance.
Cons The front cover is really thin that can get damaged if your not careful. The door needs a better holder so it stays open without wearing out fast.
I would rate this model - 4 out of 5
