GE® FUF14SVRWW 13.7 Cu. Ft. Frost-Free Upright Freezer

Audible Temp. Alarm

Audible Temp. Alarm

This little power house from GE is a little ice cube in a box. I love pretty much everything about this unit.

I bought it for my sons dorm so he could have his own space to store food. I know it was oversized but he was able to freeze everything he needed in there for the whole semester. I only had to fill it up once for him.

I wish I could of found a stainless steel one but I am not going to complain about that. It holds 13.7 cubic feet of food goodness, which is a lot for one person. It has 3 shelves inside so you can sort things out pretty easy.

I also like there is a alarm in it if it gets too warm, thou my son said he hasn't heard it once. Speaking of hearing, when he first got it he complained that it made a buzzing sound at first. I think it was just because it was a new sound he didn't know about. After a week or so he didn't have a issue with it.

I also liked this machine because it never needs to be defrosted. It does sometimes get frost if there is too much water in the air but it goes away in a day or so. I do have a couple bad things to say. It does need a drain so it can auto defrost, which wasn't that big of a deal, we used the run off to water plants in his room.

I also don't like the fact it only comes with a 1 year warranty but I think that's how most places are doing things now. Overall I would recommend it to anyone.

My Rating 4 of 5

Pros
  • Self defrosting. Lk Can hold a lot of stuff for a single person.

    Cons

  • Annoying buzzing sound but goes away after a bit.
  • The warranty should be a bit longer.
