GE® GSH25JSXB ENERGY STAR® 25.3 Cu. Ft. Side-By-Side Refrigerator with Dispenser
UltraFlow64 Dispenser : FrostGuard Defrost
The GE GSH25JSXB SS has a very stylish look with a black exterior that features two stainless steel doors. The stylish looks allows for an easy cost efficient addition to a kitchen remodel. The stainless steel doors also make for easy cleaning. The interior of the unit is very spacious and allows for easy access and view of foods. Despite some of the great highlights, the unit does have some flaws.
The stainless steel doors are very stylish but leave easy finger prints and if not cleaned frequently can look messy. Though the water filter is easily accessible and replaceable, the filter needs to be replaced quite frequently.
The ice maker is very noisy and tends to diminish the life of the water filter. The ice maker tends to over flow if the unit is not managed properly and turned off. I have had to dump buckets of ice because of overflow.
The vegetable and fruit storage sections do not control the moisture level regardless of the adjustable vents. Quite frequently food needs to be through away due to mold. This makes it difficult to stock up the fridge and wasted money if done.
The adjustable trays on the door are not very secure and have fallen when the door has opened. The trays don?t have any locking mechanism, but rather to pegs the tray can hang onto.
The water dispenser is very convenient, recently has started to stick. After filling a cup, the lever says suppressed causing water on the floor and water marks on the stainless steel doors.
I would rate this model as 4. 3 out of 5
Pros: Stainless steel doors with black exterior makes for a more stylish and updated kitchen look. Has an easily accessible and replaceable water filter, which allows for consistently clean water.
Cons:
Fruits and vegetable trays at bottom of refrigerator do not control moisture very well. Ice Maker does not have any control sensor, causing ice overflow and more frequent replacements of the water filter
