I own a Whirlpool Gold side by side 25 cubic foot refrigerator in white. It was purchased 5 years ago for around $1100, and I have never been disappointed in it. It has pull-out shelves, and several drawers for storage, as well as adjustable height shelves inside the door.
It provides tons of space, and allows for different sections of the refrigerator to be individually adjusted. The produce drawer can be kept cooler than the rest of the refrigerator, for example. The refrigerator also offers ice and water in the door, as well as light in the door. The buttons are able to be locked, also, so little hands can’t begin to press buttons and drop ice all over the floor!
Two of the best features about this refrigerator are the sliding shelves, as well as the ability to control the temperature in the crisper. Some downfalls include capacity (the refrigerator section isn’t as wide as I would like it to be), and finding replacement filters for the water in the door.

- Ice bin runs out fast if you use alot of ICE
This is a very good refrigerator, I have had it for about 4 years now and it has only had one minor repair. Being as it is 26 cubic foot, there is lots of space in the freezer and almost every odd shaped box or bag I can buy will fit. The icemaker dumps the ice in the door and this allows a lot of space in the top of the freezer for items you want to be frozen harder. The refrigerator section is one of the largest I have seen.
It has very a useful beverage center in the door where air come directly from the freezer. This allow you to have super cold drinks all the time. The shelves in the refrigerator are glass and slide out for easy removal of anything. The water dispenser is easy to operate and can fit a large pitcher with no problem. It is also easy to clean because some times the water drips out.The ice bin itself holds less cubes then most ice makers on the market but fills faster, as I did my research before purchasing.

Cons
- PVC/Plastic handles on strainless steel don’t look so great.
- The quality of Strainless steel is not the best quality since a magnet will stick on the strainless steel as well.
We bought Whirlpool Gold Side by Side refrigerator Model# GS6SHEXML00 about 5 years ago when we bought our house. The refrigerator has been a good investment to say the least. Since we use a lot of our food to freeze and use it later on we like the large freezer with this model.
The cooling has not changed a bit in the last five years of our use. Water filter needs to be changed every six months. Water Filter indicator light turns yellow to give a warning and than turns red to give you ample warning and reminder to do this task very easily.
It is as easy as turning a light switch on/off. The refrigerator has a good capacity and ample of shelf space for all food items for a growing up family of four. Both the freezer and refrigerator section are well lit and bright.
We have changed one light bulb in the past five years which should give a good indication of the quality of the product. The doors have good layout for holding quick to retrieve food articles as well. The side walls of the refrigerator are black while the front is stainless steel matt finish and not pure stainless steel.
The water dispenser does give ample amount of cold water and makes enough ice for a large family. We have never run out of ice during our 5 years of having this refrigerator. The water dispenser has a night light feature which is helpful too.
