They are positioned in the front of the refrigerator at the top for your convenience and there is a separate Ice-maker that is sold separately for those that require an ice-making facility. This is a really well-priced budget refrigerator with wire shelves in both the refrigerator and freezer compartments which make storage and retrieval convenient. Having a crisper tray in this budget unit is an advantage . The cost of this refrigerator is kept low by not incorporating an automatic defrost or an ice-maker into this specifications, but there is an to option to purchase one separately, which is good. Not being Energy Star® compliant, this is not designed to be as energy efficient as it might be, which is an important consideration for those on a budget .
