I purchased a Wine Enthusiast 12 bottle refrigerator in July after scouring the internet for reviews of other brands. The item was purchased as a wedding gift for good friends of mine, and I wanted to make sure they got a good item. After hearing how much they love it, I've purchased one for myself.
As far as the size, it's a great starter model for someone who just wants a few bottles around at the right temperature in case of company coming over, or just to keep everything properly stored and ready to drink. It's perfect for small apartments or those who don't need to have case upon case of wine stored away.
The unit is whisper quiet and you will only be able to hear a small fan whirring if you are within a couple feet of the fridge, similar to a CPU cooling fan on a low setting. One limitation to be aware of is the rack size.
The racks are best suited to standard size Bordeaux bottles, so if you have a lot of extra long or wide bottles don't expect them all to fit perfectly into this space-saving unit.
There is a light you can turn on, but it is purely an aesthetic feature. Don't expect to read your wine bottles without opening the fridge. You will also notice the temperature may fluctuate within a degree or two above or below your desired setting, but let's not split hairs.
I may find myself purchasing a second unit in a year or two because this unit is a single temperature zone.
I would like to keep both reds and whites without having to worry about the technical issues that most small dual-zone units seem to run into. Overall, it's a great little unit that was just what I was looking for, and I'm glad to have one. Pros: Attractive design silent operation
Bottle rack size Capacity will fill quickly.
I would rate this as 5 of 5
